From Nokia’s live web cast, the Nokia E55 was officially revealed. It comes in a form factor similar to the Nokia E50, but it has a BlackBerry Suretype-like keypad (two characters on one number). Nokia says this is the world’s slimmest smartphone ever, and achieves up to a month of battery life. It will be available this summer for 265 Euros or about $340 USD. More info as it comes. Nokia E73 and E85

These are the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic, Nokia E73, and Nokia E85. The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic, I suspect, will be announced on Nokia’s upcoming online music event. In terms of size the E55 handset measures 116.5mm x 49mm x 9.9mm and weighs a very reasonable and respectable 98 grams. With a display screen measuring 2.4 inches using up to 16 million colours with screen resolutions of 320 x 240 pixels the user can really enjoy very clear, bright and colourful displayed images as well as the automatic display rotation feature. However, the compact QWERTY keyboard merged with the numeric keypad may take some getting used to. It remains to be seen whether this change from the conventional ABC keypad will make life any easier when using the handset. There are one-touch keys and side volume keys that are user friendly and are great short cut keys to access the features and functions. The voice command keys control virtually all of the phones applications, services and settings which is a fantastic element to…
